Cola Tenants and Tricounty Tenants have joined forces to oppose the proposed merger between Dominion and NextEra. The organizations will convene weekly for campaign planning and workshopping.

If approved, this acquisition would form the world’s largest investor-owned utility company. Dominion’s current operations are already causing significant harm, and this merger would only compound those issues. Mega-monopolies inherently extract resources from communities and deepen social and economic inequality, making it vital to prevent this transaction.

The final decision is set to be made on January 29, 2027.

A primary concern is NextEra’s track record with its existing customer base. In 2024, Florida Power & Light (FPL), a NextEra subsidiary, disconnected power to customers at more than double the rate of Dominion in South Carolina and nearly four and a half times the rate of Duke Energy Carolinas in the Upstate region.

Join us stop the merger!
